The virtual event was attended by representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Madrid.
The project involves the provision by the Corporate Internationalisation Fund (FIEM) of concessional loans in the amount of 19.1 million euros for a period of 35 years with a grace period of 17 years and an interest rate of 0.01% per annum.
The development of this project was initiated by Uzbekistan Railways together with the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Spain in November 2019 in order to equip the repair base of locomotive facilities and car-repair bases with advanced technologies.
Following the negotiations, non-standard approach was found to the decision of implementing this project and signing a contract via videoconference.
